The Jewish Historical Museum Resource Centre is open to museum visitors, school pupils, students, researchers and the public. Jewish art, culture and religion and Jewish history (mainly in the Netherlands) are the principal subjects.
Visitors have access to 17.000 books and brochures, a video
collection (over 2.900 tapes en dvd's), photos (c. 10.000
pictures), a music collection (1.300 cds and records), a press
cuttings archive and 12.500 historical documents. Also available
are around 100 current magazine titles and prewar Jewish weeklies
on microfiches.
Opening times and facilities
The Resource Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 13.00 to
17.00. Staff are available to provide assistance. Admission to the
Resource Centre is free. Please ask at the museum main
entrance.
All the material is available for consultation. Although no items
are lent out, there is a reading room.
Please apply in advance to view microfiches and to view or listen
to audio and video material.
Photocopies and scans
Photocopy self service: € 0.10 (A4). Prints from the
microfiche collection cost € 0.50 each.
Photocopies or scans from books or articles can be ordered and sent
by mail at a charge of € 1.00 per page.
Photos
Photos may be ordered (subject to certain conditions) from
the Photo
Service.
Public catalogue
All the automated Resource Centre material is available along with
a catalogue of the museum collection, a biographical database and
Encyclopaedia Judaica as well as an Internet connection on two
computer terminals in the Resource Centre.
Internet catalogue
The literature, video and music, documents and
photograph collections are available online. The press cuttings will be
added in the near future.
Acquisitions
Every quarter the Resource Centre issues a list of new
acquisitions. This is available as a free e-mail bulletin. To
receive the list subscribe to the
