The Portuguese Synagogue still fullfills an important role as a chapel for the Sefaradic congregation. The Synagogue is also available for official happenings such as ceremonies, lectures, debates and concerts. The Synagogue serves as an excellent location for a wedding ceremony (only for Halachic Jews). The seventeenth century courtyard is great for a reception with a maximum of ca. 400 people.

The addition of a marquee is one of the possibilities.

Eating and drinking is not allowed in the Portuguese Synagogue.

The Jewish Historical Museum and the Hollandsche Schouwburg have several rooms and facilities available for lunches, lectures, meetings and receptions: the auditorium, the museum cafe, the Great Synagogue and the Walter Suskind room (in the Hollandsche Schouwburg). Together with the Portuguese Synagogue you will organize a successful event for your organisation. In consultation, we offer (kosher) catering, music, and guided tours.
