Ensemble Judique with Por Favor in the Portugese Synagoge  Thursday 24 October 2013 19.30 uur

Ensemble Judique speelt Por Favor in Portugese Synagoge

The young musicians of the Ensemble Judique tell stories with their music. By arranging their own and preexisting compositions according to a central theme, they present various styles and well-known names in the history of music in a playful and open manner.

The setting of their newest program, Por Favor?, is a bar in Amsterdam, where the protagonist - a young, classically trained violinist - meets an experienced Argentinian musician playing the bandoneon. This implies the meeting of the musical worlds of Bach, Brahms and Saint-Saëns, with the mysterious world of Guastavino, Canaro and Piazolla.

Ensemble Judique comprises a striking combination of violin, cello, clarinet and percussion (mostly marimba) and for this occasion they will include the bandoneon. The musicians got together for the first time during their tenure at NJO, a prestigious Dutch orchestra for players younger than 30.
