The building of the Hollandsche Schouwburg, today an educational monument, retains several authentic elements from the period when it was used first as theatre and then as deportation centre. The front facade and the ruined theatre wings are particularly poignant reminders of the past. Once there was an auditorium filled with seats; today it is an almost empty courtyard. Below you will find a plan to guide the visitor round the Hollandsche Schouwburg, describing the various areas as they used to be and how they are today (in Dutch).
