Opposite the Jewish Historical Museum stands the Portuguese
Synagogue. This imposing edifice, completed in 1675, has been
preserved in its original state and is still a functioning
synagogue to this day. During the tour the guide discusses the
history of the Portuguese Jews of Amsterdam and religious aspects
of Jewish life.
Separate admission is charged for the Portuguese Synagogue.
