On 26 April 2010, Martin Verbeet, head of the Amsterdam district
executive for Oost-Watergraafsmeer, will present the exhibition
Transvaal Buren ('Transvaal Neighbours') at the district
office. This is the final outcome of a project introducing
primary school pupils to the history of their own neighbourhood.
The participating children have used what they learned through
their classes, activities, and personal discoveries to mount their
very own exhibition. The project is an initiative of the Jewish
Historical Museum and the Hollandsche Schouwburg. The exhibition
will run until Wednesday 4 May.
Location: central lobby of the district office
(stadsdeelkantoor) for Oost-Watergraafsmeer (Oranje-Vrijstraat 2,
Amsterdam). Open Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
Admission: free
