The Museo dei Lumi in Italy has a contemporary
design collection of Hanukkah lamps, or menorahs, made between 1990
and 2009. This collection was an initiative of artist Antonio
Recalcati, who asked designer friends of his - Jewish and
non-Jewish, Italian and French - to come up with designs for
menorahs.
The result was a collection of no fewer than 115 Hanukkah
menorahs. A selection will be on show in the temporary display
cases at the Jewish Historical Museum and the Portuguese Synagogue
until 27 January 2013.
